A multi-family building with thirty rental apartments and a nursery school in the Barceloneta neighborhood was developed as part of an urban improvement plan in 2011 in collaboration with Ernest Compta.
The project combines the industrialization of the construction system with a flexible housing proposal. By placing the kitchen and bathroom at the center of the dwelling, the surrounding rooms can be arranged without predefined hierarchies, allowing residents to define their own uses of space.
Ten years later, the photographic report documents how these homes have been appropriated by their users. The images reveal the everyday interpretation of that projected flexibility, showing how time and life consolidate—or transform—the initial architectural decisions.
