Documentary I made about the beginning of a NeuronaLab project.
It’s about the renovation of a single-family house between terraced walls in the town of Mieres, La Garrotxa.
“A project isn’t usually conceived from scratch; there are usually older layers, whether from the environment, the building, or its previous inhabitants.
Precisely this imprint is what usually inspires the materiality and often becomes the guiding thread of our proposals.
The creative process doesn’t begin at the time of the project and the construction, but well before. It surely begins with the search for the right house or place to establish a new home.
Our task as architects should be to build that new home, maintaining the connection with other times and places, thus creating a new setting for life.
In this documentary, I talk about the importance of these preliminary steps, about how to carry out architecture over a slow fire, alongside the protagonists who will inhabit it and thinking about their future. When renovation becomes microsurgery to achieve a custom-made suit.”
